Ok it is a New Year and I have decided to start a new line of jewelry. I am going to try to design jewelry and go to school both this semester. We will see what happens. Anyway my new line is going to be eco-friendly. I spend yesterday cutting magazines and different papers into strips and rolling them into beads.

Today I put 3 coats of glossy sealer on them and I made a few pairs of earrings tonight . Will let you see how they turned out tomorrow.

Diamond Ring Found at Airport!!!!

I went to church today and my Pastor was talking about how nice it would be if we turned on the TV to fox news or CNN and they had good news. No one got raped, murdered, hired a lawyer, or got robbed. Wouldn’t that be nice! Well I thought about it and decided I would try to blog about things that were in the news that was good.

Can you imagine finding a 12-carat yellow diamond ring at the airport and returning it to its owner? That is exactly what Mark Epple of Edina, Minneapolis did. Roger Ward had crafted the ring for his wife Janis for their 30th year anniversary. It was one-of-a-kind and could not be replaced. The couple didn’t realize Janis had lost the ring in the hurry of catching the plane until they had arrived back home in Miami. The Wards contacted the airport and reported the missing ring. The airport employees searched but could not find the ring.

Mark and Karen Epple were flying out of Eagle County airport when he spotted something shiny next to the curb he was unloading luggage from the car trunk. He assumed it was costume jewelry and in a hurry to depart he put it in his pocket. When he got home and got a closer look he noticed it was a sizeable ring and could be valuable. He emailed the airport’s lost and found to report the ring.

The airport immediately put Ward in touch with Epple. Ward described the ring and sent a picture to confirm identification.The Wards offered Mark Epple a reward but he declined. He said he saw the incident as a learning experience for his three children. He said, ”If you return something that belongs to someone else you do not expect a reward.”

Roger Ward and his wife were amazed by Epple’s honesty. Roger Ward talked to Mark Epple and discovered he was an architect and had been laid off. He also discovered that Mark was passionate about skiing in Colorado. He offered Mark to stay at his part-time home Cordillera, an upscale mountain development near the Vail and Beaver Creek ski resorts.

The Epples arrived with a couple of friends for their ski vacation on December 26.

What is going on with dead birds, fish, crabs, etc...????? End Times????

Dead birds falling from the sky! Thousands of fish dead! What is going on all over the world? Could it be The End Times? Is it The End of the World? It all started on New Year’s Eve when over 5000 dead red-wing black birds fell from the sky in Beebe, Arkansas in a one-mile radius. The cause is still being investigated. Were the birds spooked by fireworks? That is one theory. All that is known for sure is that the birds died from trauma. Similar incidents have also been reported in Louisiana, Kentucky, and Sweden.

In Louisiana, near Baton Rouge on the side of a highway 500 birds were found dead. Supposedly they were spooked and ran into power lines. Is that as hard for you to believe as it is for me to believe? I don’t know what killed the birds but hard too believe 500 birds at one time flew into power lines.

In Kentucky several hundred blackbirds, starlings, and grackles were found dead near Murry. They have ruled out disease or poisons, so what is the cause of death?

In Sweden they are investigating the deaths of 100 crows in the town of Falkoping. They do not know what caused the deaths.

Now we here reports of hundreds, maybe thousands of turtle doves falling from the sky in Faenza, Italy. Many of these birds reported to have a blue stain on their beaks. Was this caused by poisoning? One wildlife authority suggested that the birds may have been caught up in a high altitude wind storm. What do you think?

In North Carolina 100 pelicans have died under suspicious circumstances. These birds found along the Shore of Topsail Island were de-winged, stabbed, shot, and decapitated. Was someone or something behind this?

In Houston, Minnesota a parasite killed about 4000 water birds between September and November of 2010.
Officials in Canada are scrambling to deal with 10,000’s of birds found dead in Winnipeg Manitoba. The cause is believed to be from a extremely virulent strain of bird flu.

Bird deaths have also been reported in Argentina.

You may not have heard but 50-100 dead birds were found around the rural town of Marion, Illinois. These were reported dead about the same times as the ones in Beebe, Arkansas.

Now East Texas also is reporting hundreds of dead birds found along a bridge in Tyler. The cause of the death of the birds is unknown. One theory they were walking on the bridge and cars hit them. Plainview, Texas has also reported 35 dead grackle birds in a parking lot believed to have died from high winds. Very unusual!

More than 100 birds found in Wilson County, Tennessee on Hwy 70 near Lebanon. A weird strange thing! 120 dead grackles were also found in the Spring Creek area. The question of how these birds turned up dead is still a mystery. Could Tennessee’s dead birds be related to other dead birds in other states? A few weeks ago a group of dead birds was also found near the Hobson Bay Bridge in Davidson County.

Japan on alert after finding dead birds! A hooded crane was found dead on the Izumi Plain. 23 birds were found dead in Tottori in the north. The birds are being tested.

On January 6, 2011, 25 dead crows were found in Indianapolis by U.S. Department of Agriculture.

Mass Birds found dead overnight in Taiwan on January 8, 2011. Hundreds of dead birds found dead in a fruit garden.

In the past few days, 40,000 velvet swimming crabs have washed up on the shores of Kent in Britian. Also found were dead sponges, lobster, starfish, and anemone.

What is the mystery behind these deaths? Supposedly extreme cold weather was the cause.

Two million Croaker fish were discovered dead in Chesapeake Bay, Maryland. This is a very large amount. There have been incidents of massive amounts of dead fish also in Brazil, New Zealand, and Arkansas. Environmentalists are claiming it is a natural phenomenon, but is it?

Things get weirder! In Parana, Brazil, 100-tons of sardines and small catfish have died. So what is the cause of these deaths? Experts are still puzzled about the deaths of these fish. It is a very sad situation.

Autopsies show they starved to death. The cause fish have moved and the penguins can’t find enough food. Do you believe that is the cause? New Zealand has also had hundreds of dead snapper fish wash ashore on the North Island. The fish line the shore as far as the eye can see. Supposedly they also died of starvation.

Scientists are not sure what caused the death of 100,000 drum fish that washed up in Ozark on the Arkansas River.

Dead fish clog Lake near airport! In Australia locals just south of Rockhampton have reported 5000 to 7000 dead fish of 11 different species. The area has been sealed off. Also hundreds of fish have died in the Golburn River near Victoria, Australia. Supposedly with all the massive flooding microorganisms from dying vegetation have stole most of the oxygen from nearby waters. What do think?

During the last week of December 150-tons of Red Tilapia fish died on aquiculture farms in Vietnam. What was the cause? Was it too many fish in a pen and low oxygen? You decide.

In the St. Clair River, Ontario, Canada officials reported finding hundreds of gizzard shad that washed on shore. Temperature shook is the cause of these deaths. What is truth?

Also hundreds of dead shad fish were found in a pond in Lincoln Park, Michigan.

If you want to walk along the beaches of Charleston, South Carolina you will have to watch out for hundreds of jelly fish and starfish that have washed up dead along the shore. Biologists believe that the cold weather is to blame for this incident.

Are all these deaths related somehow? In fact, there have been 90 mass deaths reported in the

United States

in the last six months.

Haiti investigates mystery of dead fish. Scores of fish were found dead between Haiti and the Dominican Republic. They are afraid it could be linked to a deadly cholera epidemic. Maybe it is a disease or a toxic?

This just gets weirder and weirder. Hundreds of dead fish found at Goytre Wharf in Wales. Most of the fish were bream, carp, and roach. Officials are advising not to go near or pick up any fish.

Florida- January 4^th thousands of dead fish were found in Volusia County. The fish were floating in Spruce Creek in Port Orange. According to people who live along the creek the fish kill is very unusual. The number of dead fish and the smell are overwhelming. Most of the fish were mullet, catfish, and ladyfish.

They have found birds’ dead, fish dead, and even bats dead. What is going on in the world? On December 28^th, 70 bats were found dead in Tuscan, Arizona. The cause is unseasonably warm weather. Do you agree?

This is happening world wide. What are the causes of these deaths? Dead birds and fish! They are everywhere! Whatever the cause falling birds and dead fish is not a good thing.

Is it the end times? Mass deaths have been reported about 16 times in the last 20 years.

Start out the new year ANEW!!! Jesus died on the cross for you and me. When he was on that cross he prayed, "Father forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing."

If God could forgive the men who nailed his son to the cross, why do you not think he won't forgive you?
What do you think is beyond the forgiveness of God? It stands to reason that if Jesus asked his Father to forgive the very men who crucified him, and God did, then there is nothing and no one that He cannot or will not forgive when he is humbly asked.

If God forgives those who nailed him to the cross why can't you not forgive yourself or someone else who has sinned against you? Are your standards higher than his?

Are you more righteous than he? Who are you to say, " Thank you God, but I can't forgive myself or someone who has sinned against me."

The only response should be," Thank you God, I know I don't deserve it, But I accept your grace and forgiveness. And in return, I forgive that person who has sinned against me"

Start out the New Year ANEW!!! God loves you and wants to be in your life. Give him the opportunity. All you have to do is ask!!!!

They hate clear skies, and no matter how good it gets, they can find a way to make it gloomy. When the people around them "breathe" their toxins, they feel sicker and sicker.
purifiers, on the other hand, make everything around them better. It doesn't matter what kind of rotten atmosphere they encounter. They take in the toxic words of polluters in the organization just as everyone else does, but they filter the words before passing them on. What goes in may be gloomy and negative, but when it comes back out, it's fresh and clear.

Well the day started out good, I got a Mary Kay order,YEAH!! Then I went in to work and found out was not needed and my last day is Monday after be the manager for 2 years. Well, they say everything happens for a reason, so will have to wait and see if this turns out to be a good thing or not...I got to get some things done and spend time with my husband..good thing. But quess what, the handle on the passenger side door of my BMW quit working and it is going to cost over $200 to fix. I am still trying to figure out if today was good or bad, which is it???

I had oatmeal with a banana for breakfast. Lunch was smoked tuna. I went over to visit a friend and they talked me into eating one slice of cheese pizza. Honestly they would not let me go with eating the pizza. Well tonight I only had few pieces of raw broccoli and snap peas.

My best thing of the day was I got a pearl bracelet at my Mary Kay meeting for having recuited someone and her placing an order. Yes!! then I also won the cutest little cadillac that holds my cell phone. AWESOME!!!

Would you believe I have lost 2 pounds since I started eating healthy. I just can't believe it. Well I will say this, It makes me want to try harder to stay on target with eating right.
Today had a fruit smoothie for breakfast. Red beans and 1 piece of cornbread for lunch with unsweet tea. of course supper is a whole other thing. I had one sugar cookie at 10 p.m. Well can't win at every meal...

The day started out good. We went to church then had a veggie omelet and large OJ. Lunch I had left over veggie soup and more OJ since my allegies are driving me crazy today. I cooked eggplant casserole with angel hair pasta and was fine till 9 p.m. and then it happened....

I had David get me the chocolate chip cookies and I ate three...can you believe that not one, not two, but three chocolate chip cookies. What is the deal with that? Why can I do good all day and at night blow it? What can I do to keep on track/
? Anyone have any ideas?

Today I am back on target to eating healthy... I got up this morning and made oatmeal with apples & cinnamon for breakfast. Had 1 cup of coffee & OJ also. Lunch I did great. I fixed me a mixed green salad with strawberries and seasoned rice vinegar.

I cooked a homemade soup all day in the crock pot...OMG it turned out so good! I ate two bowls. One thing I really like about eating for health is that I can eat all the fresh fruits and veggies I want.
Well David wants to go see a movie tonight so wish me well!!!

EAT FOR HEALTH

Started reading this book last night. I am trying to find something that will help me have more energy, feel better, and live healthy. I started out good today. I had a bowl of fresh fruit for breakfast with cup of coffee and OJ. For lunch I did excellent..ordered mixed salad greens with dressing on the side...didn't eat any dressing..yes!! and did not eat garlic bread that comes with it..but tonight was another matter. David & I went to the movies and watched " Julie & Julia", a great, funny movie. I had a small popcorn, not too bad,but when I got home was still hungry and had some boudin..Blew the whole day..Oh well we start over tomorrow..

Just got back from Mary Kay seminar. I had a most awesome time. I have been very impressed with Mary Kay products. I love their miracle set. My skin is much softer and I can actually see a difference in my skin. I learned so much while I was there and I know now the American dream is still possibe.

Thursday Thirteen #3

Thirteen AWESOME Things that happened this week!!!!

#1 Easter Sunday- Jesus died on the cross and rose from the dead on the third day for us!! GOD gave his only son Jesus who died for our sins so that we might live.

#2 My husband David & I went to sunrise service at 6:30 am on Easter Sunday. David was baptized along with about 60 other people on Pensacola Beach while watching a gorgeous sunrise on a chilly morning.

#3 Went to Civic Center with a couple hundred other people later Easter Sunday to worship and fellowship. Had an amazing time there.

#4 Tuesday got up at 3am and drove to Birmingham, Alabama for David to have another CAT Scan. The CAT scan showed no more bleeding on his brain and his doctor told us that David was in the 5% who walked away with nothing. What a miracle and awesome news!!!

#5 Wednesday night went to church and saw an awesome presentation. You can see a video of some of it at: http://www.pottersfield.org

#6 Michael Rozell told his life story and how he came to GOD in this awesome presentation. David was so impacted and moved that at the end of the presentation he went up with me and several other people in front of the church body and gave his life to GOD. AMAZING!!!!

#7 Thursday-David & I have so much going on in our life right now it is hard to explain. We have our house up for sale and received a bid today. YES!!!

#8 Friday- David & I have been looking for the right condo to move into and today everything came together and we found the right place.

#9 Met with friends Friday night and celebrated all the wonderful things happening in our life this week.

#10 Saturday- Sold several pieces of my jewelry this week at the shop on the beach. My sales are going back up with spring break here, YEAH!!!

#11 David & I went out tonight to hear one of our most favorite band, danced, and just have fun being with our friends. We had not gone anywhere in 2 months since David was sick. Was great to be out again.

#12 David & I have had a truely blessed and awesome week!!!!!

#13 I THANK GOD FOR ALL THAT IS HAPPENING IN OUR LIVES AND LOOK FORWARD TO WHAT HE HAS IN STORE FOR THE FUTURE...

Orgasmic Migraine- The NIGHTMARE!!!!

I woke up on an ordinary day. Kissed my husband good morning. We hugged, talked and started getting frisky. We got hotter and hotter, making passionate love until FIREWORKS EXPLODED!! We layed back in each others arms then IT happened!!!

Have you ever heard of it? Do you know what it is? Has it happened to you?

ORGASMIC MIGRAINE!!!

My husband grabbed his head and crawled into a ball crying because he was in so much pain. He said he felt like his head was going to explode. I wasn't overly worried as it had happened twice before in the year we have been married. As the day wore on it just got worse though. I gave him something for pain every 4 hours but nothing was working.I could not talk him into going to the hospital as he thought the migraine would go away. Later that night he got sick and threw up. Later he started saying crazy things and that is when I really got scared.
I took him to the hospital as he cried and begged me all the way there not to go. We arrived at the hospital at 3 a.m. and they took David right away.
An MRI was done and the doctor on duty said David had a anurism on his brain and had to be rushed to UAB(University of Alabama in Birmingham)as soon as UAB had a room available.

Valentine's Day! This is when the NIGHTMARE started!!!

Around 9 a.m. we found out a plane was being sent from UAB to FL. to pick David up and I just assumed I would get to fly with him. NOT THE CASE!! I am a libality and would have to drive 4 hours to Birmingham, Alabama. I went home, took 10 minutes to pack, and headed to Ala. During this time I had no way of knowing how my husband was doing.

As I was driving to UAB I called everyone David & I knew and asked them to please pray for my husband. The bible says all you have to do is ask GOD and he will answer your prayers. I begged GOD to please watch over David and bring him home well to me. I called my daughter and step-son and they left from Louisiana and Missouri to meet me at the hospital.

Would I make it in time to the hospital before they operated on him? I wanted to see him before he went into surgery.

I got to UAB at 5 p.m. and rushed to ICU hoping I had made it in time. YES!!! I found out they were doing more test and he had not gone into surgery yet. My daughter arrived at 7 p.m. and my step-son and his family at 9 p.m. We got to see David for a little while. He was awake and in great pain but at least he did know who we were. We would not find out the results of the test or anything until the next day.

A MIRACLE!!!

That is all I can call it, a miracle. We had tons of people praying in Florida, Louisiana, Missouri, and many other states. The power of prayer is a amazing thing!!!

We arrived at the hospital at 7 a.m. so I could talk to the doctor. I hadn't slept in 2 nights by now and was scared to death at what the news would be.

His doctor said so far the test showed no anurism. WHAT? I was astonished but so very, very happy. This was a good sign. They were going to do more test to make sure.
As days and time went by all test came back negative. He had bleeding on the brain but no anurism.

Next, they had to do a CAT SCAN to determine if there was fluid on the brain and if they needed to drill a hole in his head to drain the fluid. All I know is GOD was watching over David, it was not his time to die, and that GOD is not finished with David yet. The CAT SCAN showed no fluid.

They do not know what caused the bleeding on the brain, we may never know, and it could happen again or it may never happen again.

It was a long ten days in the hospital but David and I are very lucky to still have each other. We spent our 1 year anniversary in the hospital together. I thank GOD for letting us have each other and granting us more time together. I thank all the many friends and people who prayed for us through this time.

We still have a long road ahead as David is still in alot of pain and we do not know how long this constant headache he has will last. It will take time for the blood to disolve that is still circling around in his brain. He must take it easy for awhile and cannnot work for a month but with GOD by our side we will get through this.

BIG 55

My husband turned the big 55 on February 9th. The night before his b-day we went and got sushi and a movie. We love foreign films so we watched 'He Loves Me, He Loves Me Not'. It was a good movie. I love foreign films because you never know what will happen in the movie and this movie was no exception.

For David's big day we relaxed, slept late, then went have a lesiurely breakfast. I took him to 'The Blues Cafe' that night and invited a few friends. The Blues Cafe is an unique venue which serves up spectacular food and music, refreshing drinks and plenty of good times. Located in Pensacola’s Historic Neighborhood District, Blues Café provides local blues entertainment and an awe-inspiring array of cuisine. Live entertainment each night of the week focuses on what else but hip and groovy blues music.
We had a most wonderful night and I hope many wonderful memories for David.

As you walk in the door you are greeted with Chef Andrew Selz's display. Chef Selz is a celebrity chef and the former Presidential Chef at the White House. He prepared his award winning crab cakes for the grand opening at Geronimo's Outpost and will be selling them here. The crab cakes are delicious!!!!

The band Paris Luna was playing here on Pensacola Beach at Paradise Bar & Grill and I got to meet them. The lead singer Heather loved my jewelry so I gave her the piece I had on and she then asked me to design a piece of jewelry for her. She is going to promote my jewelry. How awesome is that. Speacking of awesome, Paris Luna is just amazing! Heather gave me one of her CD's and signed it for me. What an exciting night. Here is the piece of jewelry i designed for her.

Liz Juneau is one of our regular customers at A BEAD BOUTIQUE. She stopped by yesterday, and I always ask what she's working on. Liz is getting ready for a show this weekend. The pieces above are a small sample of some of her work.

The piece on the left is a print that she has framed and soldered. It is beautiful. The earrings in the bottom, center, are similar. They are great! Her work is very unique! The earrings in the top, right are made from beads she purchased at the RORY RAKU SHOW a few weeks ago. They are the small, raku do-nuts with leather knotting. The earrings are eye-catching. Liz always creates beautiful, one of a kind jewelry! Keep it up!

2. I just love tropical flowers. So next is Ginger.
3. Of course, I will never ever turn down receiving a dozen of Fire & Ice Roses for Valentine's Day!
4. For Mother's day I am a big tulip fan!
5. Now when it comes to buying flowers to add a little something extra in the house I love Astroemeria beacuse they last so long and are so pretty.
6.. One of my favorite flowers I use to love to pick from my grandmother's garden is Tiger Lillies.
7. And who doesn't love orchids...
8.Another way to my heart is a dozen of red velvet roses...So Special!!
9. Large Gerber Daisys in bright colors on my desk always brigntens my day!!!
10. I think a field of RED Poppies is gorgeous!!!
11. I love Purple Iris Flowers in the garden.

12. Orange roses are another one of my favorites.

My husband was a organ and tissue donor, when he died three years ago. I am glad to know because of him being a donor he might have saved several other peoples lives.

The Shortage:

Each day, about 77 people receive organ transplants. However, 19 people die each day waiting for transplants that can't take place because of the shortage of donated organs.

How to get started:

1. Register with your state donor registry
2. Designate your decision on your driver’s license. Do this when you obtain or renew your license.
3. Sign a donor card now. Carry the donor card with you until you can designate your donation decision on your driver’s license or join a donor registry
4. Talk to your family now about your donation decision. Help your family understand your wish to be an organ and tissue donor before a crisis occurs. Then they will be prepared to serve as your advocate for donation.

Organs and tissues which can be donated:

Organs that can be procured include: the heart, intestines, kidneys, lungs, liver, pancreas. These are procured from a brain dead donor or a donor where the family has consent for donation after cardiac death also know as DCD. This is where the donor has not progressed to brain death.

My husband is my inspiration. He is always encouraging me. He brings me home presents (books, magazines, jewelry display cases) which will help with my jewelry business. He also carries my business cards with him and hands them out. How many men will do that? I am very lucky to have his support.
What inspires you?
Everything around me! I feel like I live in paradise. I live in Florida by the beach, so a lot of my inspiration comes from the beach, ocean, shells, wood, tropics, nature, etc.

Where do you create?
I have a room that was first a carport turned into a den and now my studio. I seem to have taken over the whole room, so will say it is my studio. I hope to one day have a real studio outside of my home.
How long have you been working with polymer clay?
I took two classes last year at Joann Fabrics, then did nothing. When I saw this group (PCAGOE) in April, I decided I wanted to join. I picked up my clay and started making things. I am pretty much a self taught artist. Polymer clay is so much fun to work with. The possibilities are endless."

I thought that since I feature different artist on my blog I should at least feature my husband’s shop one time. He just recently opened up a shop on etsy. His passion that he does for fun is photography. He has traveled all over the world and taken pictures of the different places he has been. I thought I would let you see a few of the ones he has in his shop.
Before we take a tour here is a picture of the man behind the photography, my husband, David.

First, let’s go over to Europe and see some of his pictures from there.
If you go to Europe it would not be right if you did not go to Paris. Of course, that means pictures of The Eiffel Tower(a black and white) and The Louvre(digitally altered)

I have a elegant 50's Classic Smooth Brown Lizard Skin Vintage Escort Kelly Frame Purse
Classic and stylish, this stunning handbag is in excellent condition. The outer bag is covered in smooth brown lizard skin. Even the handle, seams and sides of the pocketbook are beautifully intact, with very little signs of wear. There are 4 ball feet on the bottom of the Kelly framed purse handbag which have helped keep the corners intact, too. The clasp functions smoothly and easily. Inside, the beige leather lining is in good condition. There is very small amount of wear along the bottom edge of purse. These very minor flaws do not impact the beauty or functionality of this exquisite bag. The back wall has a open top pocket with the golden imprint that reads Escort Bag. The sturdy style & shape of the purse allows it to stand proudly on its own, and the quality construction means the purse will always retain its shape. The base of the bag measures 7 inches, height measures 6 3/4 inches not including the strap handle, and side width measures 1 1/2 inches. The skin covered strap measures 12 inches in length. Here is a gorgeous mint green leather purse by Mondani New York. It is in mint condition. It looks brand new. It is lined with a camel colored swede. Pocket on outside of purse has a snap closure (5"W X 6 3/4"H). Purse has zipper closure. One large zippered pocket is in middle of purse with label that reads Mondani New York. there is a nice wide shoulder strap 10" from center of shoulder strap to purse. Mondani is also stamped on back of purse. A perfect accessory for the summer season. purse measures 9" wide at top and 11" wide at bottom, 7" in height. Bottom width of purse is 2 1/2". A Must Have!

My daughter (Andrea) and my grandkids came to visit me for the week in Florida since my birthday was July 1st. They live in Louisiana. It was great having them here for the week. I had to take advantage of the opportunity. I got to spend quality time with my daughter while at the same time getting some great pics of my jewelry. I just think you can sell jewelry better if someone can see how the pieces look on. I took some awesome pictures of my daughter modeling my jewelry. Luckily, she is a natural, so we had a blast! Here is the result of our fun time together!

INTERVIEW WITH TWO PCAGOE ARTIST- SCOTTGARRETT AND POLLYHYPER

This week I decided to interview two of my fellow PGAGOE-Polymer Clay Artist Guild Of Etsy members
SCOTTGARRETT & POLYHYPER. I decided to ask them some questions about PGAGOE so that you could learn more about PGAGOE and some of the amazing artist who belong to this exciting group.

SCOTTGARRETT
1.How long have you been an artist in polymer clay?
I started working with polymer clay about two years ago. My wife started first, and I couldn't keep my hands out.

2. What is you favorite polymer clay item in your shop? And why is this item your favorite?

I'm obsessed with making these pendants. Large Swirling Emerald and White - handmade polymer pendant is my favorite in the shop right now. The effect of the transparent clay marbled with the other colors is just perfect. Translucent is my favorite color right now.

3. Why do you like polymer clay?
The great colors I get to work with... I love mixing clay and watching how the colors look as they blend into each other... Many times the colors never get fully mixed because I like how they look in transition (cool marbled patterns) I love rolling and twisting all different color combinations, then taking a bit off and rolling it in hand, then a little twist and smash, and there's this cool design that is just so perfect. I love to hold finished beads in my hand.

4. How has being a member of PCAGOE helped you in your creativity with polymer clay?
Gosh, lots of things... I love checking the Flickr group for new posts, to see what others are doing. Through the group I am exposed to new ideas. Early on in my membership, I was having a little trouble believing in the ability to sell polymer work. I got some great feedback about my issues and no more worries! It's awesome to be around such an enthusiastic group of artists who are helping spread the good word about polymer clay. Such talent and creativity, Wow!

5. What was the hardest PCAGOE challenge for you? Why? And what did you make?

I've only participated in one, and made these earrings. I tried to do the self-portrait, but couldn't get my idea to work out :( Can't wait to be more involved in future challenges.)

6. Anything special I should know about you?
Sometimes, finishing a project takes forever, because I'll get a new idea and have to start on it, then another idea, and another.... I do finish some things, really :)

Two of my favorite Polymer Clay Pendants in Scott Garrett’s shop are:

This drawing was inspired by a type of visual expression called MANDALAS. Square the Circle is a stage of the Great Round. It is about focusing and being aware of principles and practices that can improve life for you and others.

POLYHYPER

1.What Is PCAGOE? And why are you a member?
PCAGOE stands for “Polymer Clay Artists Guild of Etsy”. It is a group/street team of Etsy sellers who work with polymer clay in one incarnation or another. We are growing larger and getting more exposure with each day!

2. Has PCAGOE helped you in your creativity? How?
The talent and camaraderie of the PCAGOE members is amazing, and I am so inspired by the many different directions members take working with polymer clay. No two artists are doing exactly the same thing. I’ve learned all kinds of new techniques and tips from PCAGOE members, and been pushed in new directions by the challenges posed by members as well as by the PCAGOE monthly challenge.

3. What do I have to do to join PCAGOE?
If you are an Etsy seller who works with polymer clay, you can contact Tamara, our Membership Secretary at her shop blockpartypress. There is a small membership fee/due which covers prize money for monthly challenges as well as other guild costs, and your required to keep at least 6 polymer clay items in your shop at all times.

4. What was your favorite Challenge with PCAGOE and what did you make?

Well, I’ve only competed in one challenge so far – the mixed media challenge – and it was a great excuse to finally get around to a project I had been thinking over for a while, my Rose Matchbox Pendant. My favorite challenge as a spectator was this past self-portrait challenge. It was a great way to get to know other PCAGOE members.

5. What is your favorite polymer clay item in your shop? And why is this item your favorite?
I really enjoy doing the custom work most, because I know that the piece I make will hold a very special meaning to its recipient. I had one custom order with a picture of a newborn baby, and I knew that would be something the family would hold on to for a long time. Similarly, I made a set of matching pendants for a customer using photos of her grandparents when they were teens, and had a chance to make my own little piece of history for her.

6. What is weirdest thing you ever made?
My polymer work has been pretty tame, I guess! I’ve used polymer clay to make my own molds and tools, and even to replace a piece that has broken off a household item. I used to make some “items” for a “hippie shop” which shall remain nameless.
I guess I’ll have to start making some weirder pieces!!!

This unique pendant is created using mixed media, including paint and image transfer, on polymer clay, and then coated with an acrylic finish for sheen and protection. This piece also incorporates found and/or re-purposed objects such as beads, bells, and coins. Each of my pendants is handmade and slightly irregular. No two are exactly alike, since much of the image transfer process is serendipitous.

How I got started? What inspires me?

All my life my family has been involved in crafts. I made ceramics in elementary school, and my grandmother taught me how to sew, quilt, embroidery, knit, crochet, and paint. I also minored in Art in college. My sister started designing and selling jewelry and it looked like lots of fun, but at the time, the two of us lived in Louisiana, and had many of the same friends. I did not want to compete with her so I decided to wait for a more opportune time, which came about when I moved to Florida. I sold a few pieces but making jewelry was more of a hobby than a means to make money. Mostly I was just collecting different types and styles of beads. My sister would tease me and say, "Are you just going to collect beads or are you going to make something?"

The reason I moved to Florida was I met a wonderful man and got married. Tragically, after being married for only a year, my husband died of a heart attack while out jogging. It was heart breaking for me, but I found I could escape from the reality of the situation by making jewelry. My jewelry became my life. I can forget about everything when I am making jewelry. And now, it has evolved into a passion and a business for me. I live, breath, and think jewelry.

I love the creativity involved in making jewelry and I don't make any two pieces alike. With some jewelry when you look at it you know who the artist is, but I don't believe I have a distinct signature style, as I am very versatile and I am always trying out new things. I feel with each new technique I try it changes the look of my jewelry. It is an on-going process that is constantly developing and changing into different looks.

I love fashion and I try to keep up with the latest styles and colors in the clothes I wear. Therefore, some of the pieces I make are inspired by current fashion styles, and those pieces are modern and trendy. Since I live in Florida the beach, shells, palm trees, sunsets, summer, and Florida colors inspire me, and the result is my newest collection, Bikini Beach Jewelry.

One of my latest passions is taking vintage pieces and reconstructing them. I take new pieces of jewelry and mix them with vintage pieces creating jewelry that is a really one-of-a-kind unique look. Most of my men's jewelry is created this way. These are also the pieces that I love to create a story to go along with them. With the vintage pieces I feel they have a past, and I wonder who wore this piece? What was their life like? I feel the fairytale stories I invent makes each piece just a little more special. The inspiration for the Big Catch Men's Charm Necklace came to me this way.

I also love working with polymer clay because it is so versatile and allows me to be very creative. My Aloha from Hawaii necklace was made using polymer clay. I also dabble in making lampwork beads and metal smithing. It seems like there is never enough time in the day for all the things I want to try and make with jewelry.

Today is my birthday! I went down to the cellar and found some 1789, a vintage year,Riesling white wine. Took some Roquefort cheese out the fridge, lit up an choice made imported cigar and sat back in my lounge chaise for an evening of relaxation and leisure.

Beautiful handmade quality imported choice made cigar box was embellished with vintage fabric in which sewing and beads were added for an extra touch. Picture frame mirror hardware was added along with black bamboo handles, and hook typed clasp. Inside a black and white checkered gingham fabric which was padded and pocket added. Also has black ribbon straps on each side of box. you will love carrying around this cute,lightweight, cigar box purse.

Ann Clark LTD makes & sells cookie cutters. This is a darling little replica of her cookie cutter. It is a cut out hand with a heart in the center which is made out of pewter and stamped on back "1995 Ann Clark LTD, Mendon,Vt. The hand measures 1" X 1" and tiny garnets hang 1/2" longer from it. Oxidized silver metal chain can either be 16" or 18" in length and more garnets are at end of chain. Perfect gift to tell someone how you feel. Check out the matching earrings also.

Sand Dollar + Black Oyster = Black Gold, which reminds me of the Beverly Hillbillies, thus the name. OK, I know, my mind works in mysterious ways but it is what makes me creative..:)
Featuring a vintage 24K gold-dipped geniune sand dollar, preserving it to last a lifetime. I paired it with a geniune black oyster shell I found while walking along the white sandy shores of Pensacola Beach in Florida. They hang from liquid gold seed beads 14" chain.
